Day 4 - 2015 May 29 - Aullwood Audubon Center

Today I had a very fun day at Aullwood Audubon Center.

 The Bus Ride

 Testing out the Binoculars

 Having a talk about trees

  Looking for the Blue Bird

 Kids (Baby Goats)

 Horse

 Lunch

 Chickens

 Bunny

Baby Goats (Kids)

We then had to write a meditation script when we got back to the school that afternoon.
My meditation script:

Imagine yourself sitting by a large crystal clear blue stream, under the blooming Chinese Cherry tree. You can smell the cool stream just bubbling by as the bees buzz and the hummingbirds hum by the flowers. You are now standing in the clear stream and can feel the cool water bubble through each and every single toe bringing a cool sting that is also comforting.

As you walk your feet through the stream, you can feel the wet mud go between your toes as the small blue fish flow by. As you look closely at the dirt, you start to wonder how many creatures are in one square inch. You see many living things in the one foot of dirt.

You carefully start to walk back to the tree, making sure you don’t step on any visible creature. You start to tiptoe quietly as you hear the blue birds above you chirping. You sit down quietly and open your eyes.

Day 3 - 2015 May 28 - Cox Arboretum

Today we first went to Cox Arboretum.

We had to find at least 5 different trees and one different animal.

Fish and a Couple Turtles.

 River Birtch

Another River Birtch

 Bur Oak

Snake

 Saucer Magolia

 Ant Hill

 Blue Spruce

Kiera and I trying to catch The Wild, Great White Alex

After our adventures, we then did yoga.

Overall it was a good day, and can't wait for tomorrow.

Day 2 - 2015 May 27 - Delco Park

In the morning we went to Delco Park. We made a haiku, that each line had to start with a word from a word string we found in a magazine. My three words were "returned long enough".
Haiku:

Returned back home.
Long trees and flagpoles tonight.
Enough said. Long goodnight.

Afterwards we had to mark a square foot of nature (preferably in grass) and look closely to see what we miss, like all of the insects, spiders, and all of the individual blades.

We then did yoga in the afternoon after we walked back to school and had lunch. It was my first time. I was surprisingly energised instead of tired.

Day 1 - 2015 May 26 - Introduction

Today we set up our blogs. We also went over the syllabus and did an activity where we drew our hands on a piece  of paper, and on each finger we wrote a quality about us.

Here are my 5 things about me:
            1. I'm in Boy Scouts
            2. I like camping
            3. I like shooting guns
            4. I like biking
            5. I am in robotics.

We had to get signatures of all the people that we "met" and shared our hands with.

We then did a team building activity. We had to "cross a lake" without falling in (not touching the floor). We had to walk 30 feet and only had 4 pieces of wood, that we had to use to get all 14 team members over.

Today overall was a good day. I can't wait for our first fieldtrip tomorrow.
